The Mance Family

The Mance Family

Established in 2008 by Paul’s brother, David W. Mance, The Paul T. Mance Memorial Scholarship assists a Jefferson Community College student with the pursuit of their dreams while preserving his memory. The student must be in good academic standing and show financial need.

Paul T. Mance was born November 23, 1960 in Rochester, NY. Shortly after graduating high school from Greece Arcadia, he was killed in a terrible car accident on July 23, 1978 at the age of 17. His promising future was prematurely cut short. Paul has been described by his classmates as endearing, shy, and cute. Before his death he was accepted into Alfred State College and had big goals to accomplish there. David Mance said that his brother enjoyed fishing and other sports.

The Paul T. Mance Memorial Scholarship was established to not only honor the memory of Paul, but to also assist a promising JCC student in their future. Dave was a longtime supporter of JCC, having served on its foundation board.

Jefferson Community College is honored to continue the memory of Paul and thankful to the Mance family for establishing this scholarship to support local students.
