Edison W. Cox, Jr.

Edison W. Cox, Jr. is a JCC alum who graduated in 1976 with a Liberal Arts degree. He worked as a custodian at JCC from 1981 to 2000 and is now retired. He also has served in various leadership positions with the JCC Alumni Association, including president, vice-president and director during the years 1981-1996. He continues to be a volunteer for the Association. Mr. Cox was instrumental in initiating the annual alumni phonaton, which was one of the Foundation’s primary fundraisers.

In 2005 Mr. Cox created this scholarship as he decided he wanted to “give back” to the place where he dedicated so much. It is awarded to a first-year, full time, non-traditional student. If this student continues to meet the criteria they will receive this award again in their second year. If for some reason the student does not continue to meet criteria and cannot except the award for the second year, the award will be given to another second-year student.
